Message   of   Regional   Director

On the occasion of 'ESIC Fortnight", I extend my heartiest greetings to all the employers and beneficiaries of ESI Scheme in the region. During last 58 years, the ESI Corporation has taken many initiatives for the welfare of its benificiaries. Recently, some important initiatives have been taken by the Corporation to improve its services. Some of them are listed below:-

1)  Introduction of Bio-matric Identity Cards for insured persons and their families (separate cards for self and family)

            i.     With this card, the beneficiaries shall be able to get medical benefit at any ESI Dispensary / Hospital throughout India.

ii.     The 'Employee' and his 'Family' can take superspeciality treatment from any of tie-up hospitals throughout India after following the prescribed procedure.

2)  Amnesty Scheme – 2010

         i.      The 'employer' can get the benefit of Amnesty Scheme under which criminal cases (under Section 85) shall be withdrawn by Corporation, provided employer has paid contribution/ interest for the disputed period. No damages shall be claimed.

ii.       If an employee deposits excess paid benefit, the criminal case filed against him by the Corporation under Section 84 of the ESI Act shall be withdrawn and no interest shall be claimed.

iii.       Under Amnesty Scheme, if the employer pays contreibution as per his records alongwith interest, cases filed under Section 75 of the ESI Act can be settled out of the court with the permission of the Hon'ble Court and no damages will be levied.

3)  BENEFIT PAYMENT THROUGH BANK

         i.      All the periodical cash payments for Permanent Disablement Benefit / Dependant Benefit shall be paid under ECS system and the credit shall be made directly in the Bank A/c. of the beneficiaries so that they may not have to visit the Branch Office every month.

Details on these initiatives can be had from nearest           Branch Offices of the Corporation.
